§ Mr. Kenneth Bakerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the perecentage of each of the following taxes of the total yield of taxation in each of the last 10 years, namely, Income Tax, Surtax, Purchase Tax, Petrol Duty, Tobacco Duty, Customs and Excise duty on alcohol, Corporation Tax (formerly Income Tax and Profits Tax) and Selective Employment Tax.
§ Mr. TaverneThe figures are given in the table below. Each of the specified taxes is shown as a percentage of the total central government receipts from taxes on income, expenditure and capital as defined for Tables 41 and 42 of the National Income Blue Book 1968. Some of the figures for 1968 are still provisional.
