asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action the Government has taken on Resolution (69)3 adopted on the 25th January, 1969, by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and relating to wider support for European Schools Day at national level.

Mr. Whitlock

Her Majesty's Government have made provision of £1,750 in the 1969–70 Estimates for aid to the United Kingdom National Committee of the European Schools Day, which is the same as for 1968–69, but £150 more than that for 1967–68.

I regret that Her Majesty's Government cannot undertake to make a further increase for 1969–70.
