HC Deb 24 March 1969 vol 780 cc207-8W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) whether he will arrange for value-analysis studies to be made of the economic and social costs of supplying technological aids to assist disabled or handicapped elderly pensioners to lead a fuller and more independent life; and whether he will make a statement;

(2) whether he will arrange for value-analysis studies to be made of the economic and social costs of supplying modern technological aids to assist the disabled or handicapped to earn their living and lead a fuller life; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Crossman

Studies of this kind would be very elaborate and time-consuming, and are not in my view needed to demonstrate the desirability of developing aids for the disabled as rapidly as possible.
