§ 53. Mr. Mayhewasked the Minister of Transport if he will now approve for grant purposes the building of the tunnel under the Thames on which the development plan for Thamesmead has been based.
§ Mr. MarshI have agreed with the Greater London Council that a tunnel would be the better form of crossing here and have told it that I am prepared to pay grant of 75 per cent. towards the cost of a suitable scheme.
