Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Prime Minister what advances towards British membership of the Common Market have resulted from his various conversations recently with statesmen in Europe and elsewhere; and if he will make a statement.

As regards my visit to Germany, I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave on the 18th of February to the hon. Member for Banbury (Mr. Marten). On my discussions with President Nixon, I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave on the 27th of February to my hon. Friend the Member for Salford, East (Mr. Frank Allaun) and the hon.
