Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works how many certificates in respect of new materials, products and components were issued by the Agrément Board in each of the years since its inception.

Three in 1967, twenty-one in 1968, and five so far in 1969.

Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what sum was received by the Agrément Board in fees in each of the years since its inception; what were its expenses; and what were the grants-in-aid from his Department.

For 1966–67 and 1967–68 the figures were as follows:

The grant in aid for 1968–69 is £60,000.

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works how many appraisal certificates have been issued by the Agrément Board to date; how many projects are currently under examination; and how many projects have been submitted for examination, but on which testing has not yet begun.

Mr. Mellish

Twenty-nine certificates have been issued to date; thirty-seven appraisals are in hand; firm negotiations likely to lead to a further fifty-five appraisals are in progress; and fifty-five more projects are at a preliminary stage of consideration.

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works who are the inter-departmental assessors attached to the Agrément Board; and what Departments they represent.

The Board's assessors are:—

  • Mr. M. D. Clarke of the British Standards Institution.
  • Mr. H. F. G. Kelly of the Scottish Development Department.
  • Mr. O. H. Lawn of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.
  • Mr. I. H. Lightman of the Ministry of Public Building and Works.
  • Mr. F. G. Thomas of the Building Research Station.
  • Mr. G. H. Wigglesworth of the Ministry of Public Building and Works.
