§ Mr. TaverneThe International Convention for the Suppression of Counterfeiting Currency, 1929, relates to the prevention and punishment of the offence of counterfeiting currency (Treaty Series No. 5 (1960); (Cmnd. 932).
"Currency" is defined in Part I Article 2 of the Treaty as
paper money … and metallic money, the circulation of which is legally authorised.
