§ Mrs. HartThe Superannuation Act makes no provision for the commutation of pensions payable on retirement. All women members of the Civil Service earning pensions under the Superannuation Act 1859 were in 1935 given an irrevocable option to adopt the new provisions then introduced, which give rise to a smaller pension and a lump sum additional allowance.
