§ The Prime MinisterThe Government are fully aware of the importance and urgency of this problem, and of the need to co-ordinate, in the most effective way possible, all measures of control of environmental pollution. The problem is already under close interdepartmental investigation, and has been recently considered by the Central Advisory Council for Science and Technology.
