§ Mr. Scott-Hopkinsasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give details of the £330,000 worth of damage caused to German civilian property during the winter exercises by the British Army of the Rhine between September, 1968, to March, 1969; and why the cost of these exercises exceeded £1 million.
§ Mr. BoydenThe £330,000 covers the costs of claims for damage to roads, agricultural land, property and crops. The £1.1 million also included the normal training costs for B.A.O.R., including moving 6 Brigade from the United Kingdom and training it in Germany.
