§ 58. Mr. Corfieldasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many local authorities have, over the last 18 months, had to increase their council house rents as a result of increases in loan charges; and how many of these councils have had to do so on more than one occasion.
§ Mr. MacCollSince 1st April, 1968. 664 authorities have increased their rents; 155 of them more than once. To analyse these cases for instances in which increased loan charges appeared to be the cause would be unreasonably expensive of effort and money.
