§ 45. Mr. Macdonaldasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science by what date he expects the London Borough of Bexley to complete the implementation of their plan for the introduction of comprehensive education; when he last received assurances from Bexley that the plan was proceeding according to schedule; and whether those children in Bexley schools who will leave primary schools this term will be allocated to secondary schools as the result of the old process of 11-plus selection.
§ Miss BaconMy right hon. Friend has not yet received alternative proposals for the reorganisation of secondary education on comprehensive lines to replace those approved in 1967 and withdrawn by the present Council last July. Until we do, there can be no progress towards the elimination of the old process of selection.
