asked the Lord President of the Council why three members of the catering staff have recently been dismissed, following a previous dismissal and subsequent reinstatement; and if he will make a statement.

I have been asked to reply.

After very carefully re-examining the circumstances the Catering Sub-committee decided to dismiss three members of the catering staff for misbehaviour. The dismissal of one and the suspension of another had been temporarily rescinded whilst this re-examination took place. The union concerned was kept
