§ Mr. Malcolm MacPhersonasked the Minister of Transport whether he will make a statement about the present situation of his plans for a new lock and lock gates at Grangemouth Docks.
§ Mr. MarshThe plans are the Forth Ports Authority's and not mine. The Authority has sought my consent under the Harbours Act 1964 to a revised scheme for a new lock estimated to cost £8 million. I understand that it is presently discussing with its customers at Grangemouth the means by which it may be possible to produce the revenue neces-182W sary to show an acceptable return on the proposed investment. I am awaiting the outcome of these discussions.
