HC Deb 25 July 1969 vol 787 c578W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services on what date he received a communication dated 18th March from the clerk to the National Health Service Executive Council for North-East London; why he did not reply until 11th June; what was the nature of this communication and his reply; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Crossman

I am writing to my hon. Friend about this.

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in view of the representations made to him by the hon. Member for West Ham, North, regarding the lapse of almost three months in replying to a communication from Mr. Ducher of the National Health Service Executive Council for North-East London, he will seek to ensure that when Members of Parliament, organisations and members of the public write to him they receive speedy replies to their communications.

Mr. Crossman

I always seek to ensure that replies are sent as quickly as practical considerations permit.
