§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress is being made in the pay talks for workers employed in the State Management Scheme; and if, in view of the lack of comparability with workers in other areas, he will take steps to conclude the talks without delay.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesNo official pay talks are currently in progress within the State Management Scheme but a detailed review of the brewery, stores and transport sections is being carried out. The review will provide a basis for negotiations with the representatives of the staff concerned on a productivity agreement to replace the interim increase granted earlier this year. Such a review must of necessity be a detailed one, but every effort will be made to conclude it as quickly as possible.
