HC Deb 24 July 1969 vol 787 c419W
40. Sir B. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now, by legislation or otherwise, ensure that adequate security is provided against dangerous wild animals kept as pets by private individuals so that incidents of these animals, such as pumas, cobras and an alligator escaping and thus causing danger to life and limb and also placing burdens on public funds, shall be avoided.

43. Mr. Kirk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has for amending the law relating to the keeping of dangerous animals and reptiles on private premises.
