Mr, David Howellasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will list the firms which have received advisory and other assistance from the Manpower and Productivity Service division in her Department since its inception; and whether she will indicate cases where charges have been made for this service and at what level they have been set.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerThe Manpower and Productivity Service assists firms on a confidential basis, and I am therefore unable to disclose the names of its clients. The service became fully operational on 1st January, 1969, and during the following six months gave advice to nearly 2,000 firms and carried out detailed surveys of problems impeding productivity in more than 60 organisations in the public and private sectors. No charge is made for this service.
