§ Mr. StonehouseOver £2½ million a year.
§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Postmaster-General what percentage of the cost of colour television transmissions is covered by additional revenue from colour television licences.
§ Mr. StonehouseIn the period from 1st January, 1968, when the colour licence was introduced, until 31st December, 1968, revenue from the additional £5 charge amounted to £375,000. As is to be expected at the beginning of a new 191W service, this additional revenue meets only a small part of the cost of providing it; but, as the revenue continues to increase, the contribution will become greater.
