§ Mr. Carol Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will instruct Her Majesty's Inspectors to inquire into the conduct of schools of art throughout the country, in view of recent events at those schools.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsHer Majesty's Inspectors are in frequent touch with colleges and schools of art as part of their normal duty. A senior member of the Inspectorate acts as an assessor to the Joint Committee of the National Advisory Council on Art Education and of the National Council for Diplomas in Art and Design, which is currently examining the structure and content of art and design education.
