§ 70. Sir J. Rodgersasked the Minister of Technology what steps he is taking to mitigate the noise resulting from supersonic aircraft such as the Concorde and similar types of aircraft; and whether he will consider, in conjunction with this, the provision of better insulation for houses that are likely to be in the path of such aircraft.
§ Mr. BennIt is one of Concorde's design aims that its engine noise should be no greater than that of current jet aircraft. Concorde will operate initially from Heathrow where a sound insulation scheme is already in operation. The control of supersonic flying over land is for my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade.
