HC Deb 20 February 1969 vol 778 cc138-9W
49. Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs which of the regional economic planning councils have, since they were established, conducted surveys of public opinion on matters relating to the regions with the planning of which they are concerned.

Mr. Urwin

No Council has conducted a formal survey of public opinion on regional planning matters, but all have very actively sought views from the public on the proposals in published regional studies and strategies through full use of local media, including radio and television, and have frequent consultations with local authorities and industrial and other representative bodies on regional planning issues.
