§ Mr. PentlandA man who is on strike, whether official or unofficial, is not entitled to unemployment benefit and supplementary benefit is payable for the requirements of his dependants only. The amount of supplementary benefit depends upon resources, but the maximum is £3 14s. for the wife plus rent and additions for the children, ranging according to age from £1 7s. to £2 1s. each.
