HC Deb 17 February 1969 vol 778 c31W
95. Mr. Cordle

asked the Minister of Transport what proposals he has for reducing the number of accidents among drivers who have recently passed their tests.

Mr. Marsh

Many of our road safety measures should help to reduce accidents among drivers who have recently passed their test. In particular I hope that the compulsory registration of professional driving instructors will improve tuition, and that the new Highway Code, the Driving Manual we shall be publishing later this year, and some of our television films on particular manoeuvres will all be helpful.
