HC Deb 12 February 1969 vol 777 cc327-8W
105. Mr. Boston

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the cost to public funds of the precautionary measures taken by his Department, including a survey by Royal Navy divers, in investigating and frustrating a plan by students from a northern university or universities to interfere with the wreck of the s.s. "Richard Montgomery", off Sheerness, as part of those students' rag week activities; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. David Owen

The full cost of mounting the operation was £350; the additional costs incurred were of the order of £65.
