§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received concerning his proposals to extend the jurisdiction of the General Teaching Council to include further education establishments as from August; and what replies he has sent.
§ Mr. RossI have made no such proposals. The Council has recommended that registration or conditional registration should be a requirement for a permanent appointment in a further education centre, and I am in consultation with it on this matter. I have received representations from the Scottish Schoolmasters Association against the Council's recommendation; I have not yet sent a reply.
