Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Minister of Power what supplies of natural gas will be available in Scotland; and what estimate he has made of the effect which such supplies will have on the price of gas in Scotland.
§ Mr. FreesonInitial supplies will reach Scotland next year. Between 15 and 20 per cent. of needs will probably be met from natural gas in 1970 and this proportion will increase in subsequent years. I expect prices to fall in real terms as national gas supplies build up, but I cannot forecast by how much.
