HC Deb 04 February 1969 vol 777 c66W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs whether he will give a detailed list of the official functions and conferences attended by him and the Ministers in his Department for the longest convenient period; and what plans he has for attending such functions and conferences in 1969.

Mr. Shore

No. A complete list of the Ministerial engagements of myself and my colleagues would be too lengthy for circulation in the OFFICIAL REPORT and would include a large number of meetings between Ministers which it is not customary to disclose. But among the more widely known official functions the economic, industrial and regional planning activities of the D.E.A. involve—and in future will increasingly involve—wide ranging contacts and regular meetings with N.E.D.C, E.D.C.s, the I.R.C. and the Regional Economic Planning Councils.
