§ Mrs. Joyce Butlerasked the Minister of Public Building and Works what use is to be made of the unoccoupied Tea House in Kensington Gardens.
§ Mr. John SilkinIt has been difficult to find a future use for this building which would fit wholly and acceptably into the general public use of the gardens. However I am glad to say that the Arts Council has now put forward a scheme for displaying there without charge works by young artists in the United Kingdom which might not otherwise receive a public showing. I have accepted the Arts Council's proposals and am hopeful that they will meet with approval generally. Detailed arrangements are now being worked out, and I hope that these free exhibitions will start in the early summer.
