§ 79. Mr. Ripponasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a statement on the present position in regard to the development and production of the Mark 24 torpedo for the Royal Navy.
§ Mr. John MorrisAn extensive redesign of the Mark 24 torpedo has been found necessary and production has been suspended. Urgent remedial action is being taken but I am afraid that the introduction of the weapon into service will be considerably delayed.
