Mr. Bob BrownWe have had no formal representations on this point but we are aware through the divisional road engineers of the concern of some local authority surveyors about the possible effect of a hard winter on roads in their area.
Responsibility for the maintenance of roads other than trunk roads rests with the local authorities themselves: there are no longer any direct grants for the maintenance of such roads.
