I am sending a copy to local education authorities, colleges of further education and other interests concerned with the education and training of technicians and comparable grades in industry and commerce, with an administrative memorandum commending it to their attention.

Following the advice of the National Advisory Council, I propose as a first step to obtain the views of the many bodies, including the associations of teachers, to whom the report's recommendations are of direct concern. I am glad to have this opportunity of thanking Dr. Haslegrave, the Committee's Chairman, and his colleagues for their work in producing this valuable report.
