§ Mr. DellAt 10th November, 1969, there were 2,948 persons registered as wholly unemployed in the area covered by the Brighton Employment Exchange. At that date, the numbers registered as wholly unemployed in the whole of the Brighton, Lewes, Newhaven and Shoreham travel-to-work area formed 3 per cent. of the estimated numbers of all employees, employed and unemployed. Percentage rates of unemployment cannot be calculated from Brighton alone.
