§ 59. Mr. Milneasked the Minister of Transport if he will make a statement on the progress of the discussions between his Department, the Tyne Tunnel Authority and other bodies in regard to the charges for the Tyne Tunnel in the future.
§ Mr. MulleyI have told the Tunnel Joint Committee that its proposals for revision of the tolls structure do not, in my view, provide sufficiently for the financial viability of the tunnel, which I have to safeguard; and that I cannot accept them.
