A. White's invention; why it took until 19th November for this invention to be tested; and why it took until 28th November for the hon. Member to be informed of the results of the test.
§ Mr. Freeson1st July, 1969. My hon. Friend was fully informed about the position in letters sent to him on 31st July, 21st August and 17th September. Three professional officers attended a demonstration of the invention on 19th November, and within nine days a letter was sent to my hon. Friend explaining70W that since the invention was not based on any research into fundamental problems of explosion and venting, the Government could not take up a device of this kind.
