§ Mr. Joplingasked the Prime Minister which parts, and on what occasions, has the Minister in charge of the problems of the Northern Economic Planning Board's area visited Cumberland and Westmorland during the last three years.
§ The Prime MinisterMinisters with responsibility for the Northern Economic Planning Region visited the area on 25th260W April, 1967 (Carlisle, Solway, Workington), 1st and 2nd February, 1968 (Carlisle, Cockermouth, Whitehaven, Millom and Kendal), 25th September, 1968 (Millom) and 27th June, 1969 (Lillyhall).
I myself visited Workington on 9th June and on 13th October, 1967, and had meetings with trade union representatives, the Cumberland Development Council and local authorities at Cockermouth.
The Minister of State will be visiting Millom on 9th January, 1970.
