§ Mr. Pardoeasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the progress towards the formation of the new polytechnic which is to be formed out of Hornsey College of Art, Enfield College of Technology and Hendon College of Technology; and if he will state a date when 209W the new polytechnic will come into existence.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsI am informed that the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Local Education Authorities are expecting to be able shortly to consult the staffs and students of the three colleges on draft proposals for a North London Polytechnic and are intending to submit their polytechnic scheme as soon as possible thereafter. It is impossible at this stage to say how soon the proposed polytechnic could be brought into existence.
