Jannerasked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that five Ministries are under present circumstances concerned with water resources, flood protection and warning, reservoirs and hydraulic research; and if he will consider appointing a single Minister to deal with these matters or arrange for some other method of co-ordination.
§ The Prime MinisterAlthough the machinery of government is kept under continuous review, I do not think that it would help to have a single Minister of the kind my hon. Friend suggests and I122W prefer to rely on the existing arrangements for co-ordination which enable my right hon. Friends to work very closely together on these matters.
