§ 1958 Mr. Roy JenkinsI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the total of fifteen statutory appointments within my patronage that I gave in reply to her Question of 26th February, 1969. Of these fourteen are remunerated by salary and one by fee. Only eleven appointments have been made. The details are as follows:
Decimal Currency Board
- Chairman: Lord Fiske £3,500 p.a.
- Deputy Chairman: Lord Errol £2,000 p.a.
- Members: Mr. J. G. Bothwell, Mr. H. G. Conway, Mr. P. H. Dixon, Mrs. E M Dodds.
26 - Mr. B. W. Goodman, Lord Halsbury, Mr. E. J. N. Warburton, Mr. J. H. Wiggins, normally £750 p.a. but this may, on occasion, be abated.
The Decimal Currency Act, 1967, provides that the Board shall consist of a chairman and not less than six nor more than thirteen other members, i.e., a maximum of fourteen. Only ten appointments have been made.
