Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works if he will give details of the £275,751 net total expenditure at Windsor Castle in 1969–70 as shown in the Civil Estimates, Class IX, 2, Appendix IV.

Details are as follows:

27,450 for new works:
2,000 for a new lift.
5,200 for extension of heating mains from central boilerhouse.
1,650 for conversion of boilers.
13,800 for re-occupation services for 6 staff residences.
2,350 for improvements to sanitary arrangements in official residences.
2,450 for minor new works.
25 for rents.
15,600 for cleaning services (other than domestic).
42,100 for day-to-day building maintenance.
51,835 for operation and maintenance of plant.
68,700 for special maintenance, of which:
13,800 for painting, decorating, etc.
7,150 for renewal of stonework and brickwork.
9,550 for roofing works.
5,000 for drainage and water mains.
33,200 for a miscellany of smaller maintenance jobs.
140 for Supplies services.
30,000 for maintenance of furniture and equipment.
44,274 for fuel, gas, electricity and water.
4,373 Appropriations-in-Aid.
