Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the reasons for the growth in the money supply during the second quarter of 1968, in view of paragraph 11 of his predecessor's letter of intent that a substantial recovery of reserves would not be allowed to lead to a large rise in the money supply, and in view of the fact that such a recovery has not taken place.
