Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will recommend the appointment of a Royal Commission to look into the question of industrial accidents and their cost to the nation, in view of the fact that in 1967 24,250,000 man days were lost through industrial accidents compared with 2,744,000 lost through strikes.
