HC Deb 04 November 1968 vol 772 cc14-5W
Viscount Lambton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in view of the suffering and loss of earnings that has been inflicted on Mr. Robert Brewis, as a result of contracting foot-and-mouth disease, he will introduce legislation to enable men or women who suffered from foot-and-mouth disease to be entitled to compensation.

Mr. Loughlin

A detailed examination of the history of Mr. Brewis' claims under the Industrial Injuries Act in respect of disability due to foot-and-mouth disease is being made. When this is completed I shall write to the noble Lord.
