§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Transport what action he proposes to take to publicise the new penalty of a £20 fine for non-exhibition of a current Road Fund licence; and what action he intends to take to instruct the traffic wardens on their new duties concerning this and similar offences.
Mr. Bob BrownThe law already imposes a penalty of £20 for failing to display a licence which has been taken out. My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary will be consulting the police authorities before extending the powers and functions of traffic wardens under the provisions of the Transport Bill.
