HC Deb 30 May 1968 vol 765 c262W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what items of Service clothing are made or bought outside the United Kingdom; in what countries; and what advantages are obtained from their being made there;

(2) for what reason the value of contracts of Service clothing placed outside the United Kingdom has increased over the last three years.

Mr. John Morris

Mainly bearskin caps from Canada and special badges and chevrons from Malta. We cannot get all we need of these items from British firms and the demand for them has increased over the last three years, though the size of the orders involved is small.
