HC Deb 29 May 1968 vol 765 c217W
55 and 56. Mr. Gardner

asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) what was the value of United Kingdom arms sales abroad as a percentage of total exports in 1967;

(2) what was the value of United Kingdom arms sales as a percentage of total exports to countries in the Middle East and North Africa, taken together during 1967.

Mr. Crosland

I provisionally estimate that sales of defence equipment represented about 3 per cent, of total exports in 1967. It has been the policy of successive Government not to disclose the value of defence equipment exported to individual countries or groups of countries.
