§ 53. Mr. Pavittasked the Minister of Health what the average gross annual remuneration of a general practitioner will be after the review body's recommendations have been implemented, the net remuneration; and what percentage of increase this represents over the averages pertaining in 1948.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonEstimated gross remuneration payable by Executive Councils in 1968–69 after implementation226W of the Review Body's latest recommendations would if divided by the estimated total of doctors give a quotient of the order of £5,800. On the basis of the Review Body's assumptions about practice expenses the net element of this would be some £3,800. A precisely comparable figure for the first full year of the National Health Service 1949–50 is not available, but I estimate that the increase is around 120 per cent.
