Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) what was the capital cost to public funds of the last new town completed; and what is its estimated population;

(2) what deficit or percentage return was obtainable on the capital involved in the most recent creation of a new town fully occupied.

Full financial and other information about the four completed New Towns—Crawley, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead and Welwyn Garden City—is given in the report of the Commission for the New Towns for the period ending 31st March, 1967 presented to Parliament in July, 1967.
