asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what qualifications and experience he has laid down for senior educational psychologists appointed by local education authorities.

It is for local education authorities to assess the qualifications and abilities of staff they appoint to educational psychologist posts. My right hon. Friend is now considering a report on the matter recently submitted to him by a Working Party under the chairmanship of Professor Summerfield.
