§ Mr. Kitsonasked the Minister of Health what antibiotics were used in the Tees-side hospitals during the outbreak 215W of gastro-enteritis; and which of these antibiotics failed to give the necessary results.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonThe antibiotics which were used depended on the known drug-sensitivities of the organisms associated with the outbreak. The drug mainly used was neomycin until it became evident that many of the strains of organisms concerned were resistant to this drug, as well as to ampicillin, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, tetracyclines, streptomycin and sulphonamides.
